Total Rebates 2010

At the beginning of 2010, I joined Mr. Rebates. I was not sure exactly what it was or if I shopped online all that much. I decided to give it a try and see what happened. Well, over the course of the calendar year, I think it was worth it! I received over $86 back from Mr. Rebates...they actually sent a paper check to my home! Here is a list of payments that I received this year:

The only "hard part" about Mr. Rebates is that you have to wait 90 days for rebates to go from Pending to Avaialable. I signed up in January, and it was April before I could get a check. But, as you can see, once I got through the first 90 day period, I had enough in my account to keep getting checks pretty regularly. In 2011, I expect to be able to get a rebate check every month.

So what did I buy online? There are a few items that I was already purchasing online every month. One is coffee for my Kuerig and another is printer ink. I also bought gifts that needed to be shipped to a family member or friend because the store can ship the items for free in many cases. Even eBay is a participating store, so if there was something I was buying from eBay anyway, I would go through Mr. Rebates. We did some remodeling of our condo this year and some items we had to special order, I was able to get rebates on as well....like the lights for our bathrooms, the cabinet handles for my desk, and the sink faucets.

I shared my experiences with Mr. Rebates with a few friends, and they signed up, too. Whenever they make a purchase, I earn a little bit of their rebate too! Here are my lifetime stats for the program:

So as you can see, I am expecting about $80 from Mr. Rebates, mostly due to the great Christmas shopping season!

I am definitely going to continue shopping through Mr. Rebates this year. It's FREE and easy...all you do is begin each online shopping trip from your Mr. Rebates account and the dollars start adding up. If you're shopping online this year, why not earn a little extra back on each purchase....if you sign up today, you can have your first check just in time for spring break.
